Dwayne R. Ice, OD

Dr. Ice has been in practice for 29 years, graduating from University of Houston College of Optometry in 1981. After working for Dr. John Jarding for two years in Hot Springs, Dr. Ice moved to Rapid City in 1983. He has been at the present location of 825 Columbus Street since March 2003.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association; the Sports Vision Section; the South Dakota Optometric Society; and the Black Hills Optometric Society. Dr. Ice is certified in Ocular Pharmaceutical Therapeutics. Vision West Eye Care and Dr. Ice are proud to be seven (7) year members of America’s Premier Group of Independent Optometrists “Vision Source!”

He and his wife, Barbara have two children, Gelea and Brandon. Barbara devotes her time and energy to adminstering to the educational needs of South Dakota children as the Principal at Red Shirt Indian School. Their daughter, Gelea, is interning in Optometry in Seattle, Washington. Brandon, their son, is pursuing a career in construction management in Pierre, SD. Dr. Ice enjoys hunting , fishing, boating, snow-skiing and pottery (which he has an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from SDSU). Dr Ice and his wife also spend time together biking and hiking. They are both strong supporters of many area Arts and Educational projects.
